Using their capture software to display the stream though, I was able to capture at 1080p60 with 3rd party capture software. I have a decently powered computer (enough to play Battlefield 4 with every option maxed at 1080p at a solid 60 fps), and my uncompressed videos were maxing out at around 44 fps. I'm warning you though, you'll need an extremely powerful computer. If you do have Vegas or Premiere though, you can capture up to 60 Mbps if recording in mpeg4 format, or a straight uncompressed capture. So, if you're capturing at 60 fps, the Elgato will look better.
If you don't have Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere Pro 6 though, you'll be limited to their recording software, which limits you to 30 Mbps. Whether you need it is another question, as YouTube limits you to 30 fps.
